Lenora Mendias Randerson

Lenora Mendias Randerson, Age 77 of Haslet, Texas passed away on Sunday, August 25th, 2024. She was born on May 31, 1947 in Dallas, Texas. She was the daughter of Raymond Vela Sr. and Betty Cantu Mendias. She graduated from South Oak Cliff High School in 1965 where she met the love of her life, Raymond "Randy" Randerson. They were wed on June 24th, 1967 and were married for 51 years.

Lenora worked in the banking industry for more than 40 years. She was a teller and loan officer at a number of different banks. 1st National Duncanville for 26 years, at 1st National Bank of Barnesville, Georgia, and Plainscapital Bank in Lubbock and Dallas Texas. She was a member of ABWA.

She was a wonderful mother to her two daughters. She was heavily involved in their activities whether it was gymnastics, dance, cheer, or softball. She was always present, supportive, and heavily involved. While they loved being from the Dallas/Ft.Worth area, her and Randy could not resist the pull of the grandbabies. Before they knew it, Randy and Lenora were living in Georgia and then in West Texas, and finally back to Haslet, TX to be part of their five grandbabies lives. She loved her family. She talked to her daughters daily. Her favorite role was grandmother and great grandmother. She spoiled all of them. She loved sending gifts, encouraging cards, being together and Facetiming every chance she got.

She retired to take care of her husband after he was diagnosed with Dementia.

She was a faithful servant of the Lord. She was a long time member of the Christian Church (DOC) and served as an elder, deacon, choir member and CWF leader. She was active in churches in Duncanville, TX, Griffin, GA, Brownfield, TX and Rowlett, TX, Keller United Methodist Church, and University Christian Church in Fort Worth.

While she made almost everyone feel like a true friend, she had a group of really close friends that call themselves the "forever friends." These friends were like a second family for her and kept up with each other's lives and growing families.

She fought a hard fight against multiple myeloma, and regardless of how she felt, she was always dressed to a tee and on the go.

She is survived by one Brother, Charlie Mendias; 2 daughters, Ronda McMullin (Chad) of Windsor, MO and Rachel Russell of Keller, TX. Five grandchildren Chance (Michaela), Chelsea and Chase McMullin, Brock and Sophia Russell, and three great granddaughters, Saige, Sam and Sawyer, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Randy, as well as two brothers Raymond and Rudy Mendias.

Funeral Services will be held at University Christian Church at TCU at 4:00 pm on Friday, August 30th, 2024, with Rev. Dr. Eldon Irving and Rev. Shannon Moore officiating.
