Leon Null

Leon B. Null, a wonderful man, devoted husband, beloved brother, and caring father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, received his eternal reward when he graduated from this life on October 11, 2021 after a brave battle against COVID-19.

He was born July 5, 1935, the first son of Clyde and Betty Null of Fort Worth, TX. He dropped out of school in 7th grade to help take care of his family after tragedy struck, working any job he could find at 12 years old to help make ends meet before eventually joining the staff at Foremost Dairy. He joined the Texas National Guard in the late 1950s out of an obligation to serve his country. He married Sarah Jane, the love of his life, on July 14, 1955, and they adopted two girls who were the pride of his life. In 1993, Leon retired from the National Linen Service after 32 years of service in order to spend time with his grandchildren and focus on his golf swing.

Leon was preceded in death by his parents. Left to carry his legacy on this earth are his loving wife of 66 years, Sarah Jane; his siblings Faye Nell (Clarence) Huffman, Donald (Carolyn) Null and Bill Null; his daughters, Laura (Butch) Perry and Lisa Pinney; grandchildren Stephanie (Calvin) Wright, Brittany (Jason) Collins, Tim (Courtney) Pinney, Tom Pinney, Tobias (Tiffany) Pinney, and D’Ann (Sean) Fletcher; and great grandchildren Lexi, Sunny, Remi, Lilly, Rosie, and Sammy.

A visitation for friends, acquaintances, and family will be held Friday, October 15 from 6-8pm at Lucas Funeral Home in Hurst, TX. Services will be held on Saturday, October 16 at 10am at Lucas Funeral Home, Rev. Clarence Huffman presiding. The family asks that all attendees wear masks and maintain 6 feet of social distancing from others regardless of vaccination status, as there will be immunocompromised family members in attendance. Interment will follow at Glenwood Cemetery, 415 N. Parkway Drive, Alvarado, TX.
