Leslie Kay Watson Fluegel fell into Jesus's waiting arms on Tuesday February 13, 2018 after an inspiring and courageous seven year battle with cancer. Leslie’s motto of “Live, Laugh, Love” carried her and her family through these times with peace and joy.

Interment: 2 p.m. Sunday in St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery, Highway 217 in Randall County.

Leslie was born in Amarillo on March 2, 1960 to William A. and Nancy Watson where she grew up and graduated from Tascosa High School and earned an Associate Degree from Amarillo College where she was also a Badger Belle. She attended and graduated from Southern Methodist University where she obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology in May of 1983.
While in Tascosa High School, Leslie stole the heart of Kyle Fluegel who she finally agreed to marry in June of 1983. Leslie was a devoted wife of 35 years and made nurturing her family which included her four children the focus of her life’s work.
Leslie and her friend Kim Sawler started “Truly Maiden Texas”, a seasoning company out of their kitchens. When Leslie and her family moved to Amarillo, Kim transformed the company into the charity “Food for the Soul” which has now provided 1.3 million meals and Bibles to children over the weekends. When Leslie returned to the Fort Worth area she became active in “Food for the Soul” coordinating the community garden “Summer Harvest” effort. Leslie was also a substitute teacher and registered babysitter for foster children.
Husband of 35 years Kyle Fluegel; four children, Joshua Fluegel and wife, KateLynn and grandson, Jameson of Grapevine, Whitney Keffer and husband, Kyle of North Richland Hills, Tyler of Dallas, and Chad attending Texas Tech University in Lubbock and Sophia University in Tokyo, Japan; parents, Bill and Nancy Watson of Plano; sisters, Brenda and husband Rich of Nashville, Tenn. and Jennifer Magee and husband, Keith of Plano; and brother, Jeff and wife, Caroline of Frisco.
