Lester Lee Hutchings was born in Hugo, Oklahoma on October 15, 1930 and peacefully passed from this life on Thursday, January 22, 2025 to be united with his Savior and beloved wife, Joyce to whom he was married for 54 wonderful years.
Known as "Les" he spent his early life dedicated to serving our country while enlisted in the Air Force and Navy Reserves. After his time in the service, he began a successful sales career and by utilizing his entrepreneurial spirit and talents established and founded the Hutchings Company (Hutco, Inc.) in 1975 that had locations in Dallas, Fort Worth and Shreveport. Les and Joyce spent many years living and raising their family in Irving, Texas until retirement took them to Cedar Creek Lake where they spent many more blessed years together.
Les experienced many successes and achievements in his life but he will be well remembered for his love and dedication to his wife Joyce, children and grandchildren who affectionately knew him as "Granddad".
He is survived by daughter, Dana Stewart of Clyde, Texas; son, Steve Hutchings and wife Beverly of Hurst, Texas; son, Stacy Hutchings and wife Julie of McKinney, Texas. Also survived by his beloved grandchildren, Chris Hutchings, Chase Hutchings, Mariah Earles and husband Patrick, Rileigh Wiles and husband Nick, Corbin Hutchings and wife Brianna and by his great grandchildren, Greyson Hutchings, Ariana Wiles and Stella Wiles.
Les was blessed with a generous heart and a great sense of humor that helped him touch many lives and he will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
A memorial service honoring Les's life will be held on Saturday, February 22, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at Lucas Funeral Home in Grapevine, Texas. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
