Lester Schimmel

Lester Schimmel, 84, passed away on Sunday, January 28, 2018.
Funeral: 1:00 Saturday St. Paul United Methodist Church in Hurst. Interment: Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery in Dallas. Visitation: 6-8:00 PM Friday at Lucas Funeral Home in Hurst.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Semper Fi Fund ( www.semperfifund.org ).
Lester was born April 12, 1934 in Fort Worth to the late Claude and Myrtle Schimmel. He attended high school at Northside High in Fort Worth before serving his country in the U.S. Marine Corps. Lester proudly served 3 tours in Vietnam and retired after more than 20 years of service with the rank of Master Gunnery Sgt. He was married to Dolletta “Dolly” Fricke on March 18, 1977.
Survivors: Devoted and Loving wife of 40 years, Dolly; son, Ty Schimmel; daughter, April Mae Pressley; 2 grandchildren; 2 great-granddaughters; brother, R.L. “Bob” Schimmel and wife Sue; special nephews, Michael Schimmel and wife Linda, Rick Schimmel and wife Beth, and Michael Dimsdle; sister-in-law, Deborah Dimsdle; and a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and extended family members.
