Leszek Nikiel passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, January 2, 2024 in Fort Worth, TX. He was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle, friend and colleague and will be missed by those who knew him. He was happiest with family and friends and was tirelessly dedicated to supporting those around him.
Leszek was born on Sunday, April 26, 1959 in Poland to Josef and Emilia Nikiel. He had one daughter, Anna Ficek, from his first marriage and was blessed to have her in his life despite the distance. He moved to the United States in his late twenties to continue his studies and graduated from Texas Christian University with his PhD in Physics and Astronomy in 1991. Throughout the years he built a happy life with his wife of 33 years, Krystyna Nikiel, whom he married on December 26, 1990. They had one daughter together, Kasia Nikiel, and built a beautiful home where he enjoyed woodworking, photography, biking, and skiing.
Leszek is survived by his wife Krystyna Nikiel; daughters, Kasia Nikiel and Anna Ficek; and sisters, Ewa Nikiel and Alicia Kuzma. He was preceded in death by his parents.
