NORTH RICHLAND HILLS -- Lewis "Wayne" Summers Jr., 53, of North Richland Hills passed away on Saturday, Oct. 6, 2012, after a brief but hard fought battle with cancer.
Memorial service: 4 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 16, at Lucas Memorial Chapel in Hurst and at 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 20, at the United Methodist Church in Crawford, Neb.

Wayne was born in Chadron, Neb., in 1959 and grew up in Crawford, Neb., where he loved hiking the buttes outside Fort Robinson. He graduated from Crawford High School in 1977 and hired onto the Burlington Northern Railroad in 1980 where he still worked at the time of his death.
Wayne, a dedicated and loving family man, was highly regarded by friends and family as a kind and loyal man with a great sense of humor. He valued honesty and forgiveness and possessed an unshakable faith in God.
Wayne, an avid Nebraska Cornhuskers football fan, also enjoyed raising saltwater corals and fish, traveling, photography, music, cutting-edge electronics, and being with his family.
Wayne was predeceased by brothers, Alan, Robert and Jeffrey.
Survivors: Wayne will be missed by Barb, his wife of 31 years; son, Jamie; daughter, Tasha (Pat); son, Matthew; granddaughters, Brianna and Leylah; parents, Lewis and Audrey; siblings, Jody(Bill), Vicki, Jamie, Tammy (Ruben), Lisa, Michael (Kathy), Steven (Sandy), Darla (Bryan), Leslie (Jim) and Tracy; uncles and aunts, Clete, Lyle, Sandy (Dennis), Jim, Georgia and Betty (Walt); more than 120 cousins, nieces and nephews; and his many friends.
