Lila Lee Sloan (Hall), of Keller, TX, passed away on December 31, 2020 at the age of 87 years old. She will be remembered as a devoted mother and wife, loving grandmother, beloved sister, and admired aunt to all who loved her.
Lila was born on March 19, 1933 in Granite City, Illinois to Louisa and Hubert Hall. She was the oldest of 5 siblings and lived in Granite City until she graduated from high school in 1950.
Lila loved to dance and met her husband, Larry Sloan, in 1953 when they danced together at the USO. They wed soon after on May 16, 1953 and were happily married for nearly 60 years. They raised two children and enjoyed their three grandchildren throughout their life together. Lila was a vibrant person who loved a good story, colorful flowers, her daily crossword puzzle, and reading her Bible. She cherished her family and loved spending time with them any chance she got. Her fun spirit and warmth will be greatly missed by her loved ones.
Lila is survived by her sister, Betty Tester; her grandchildren, Samuel Sears (Mary Beth Coleman), Haylee Sears, and Allisa Berberich (Zachary Berberich); her great-grandchildren, Wyatt Berberich and Maevery Sears; and her nieces, nephews, cousins, and in-laws.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Larry Sloan; her son, Larry Keith Sloan; her daughter, Sharrie Sloan Weaver; her brother Gerald Hall; her sisters, Marilyn Hurd and Carol McCartney, and her parents Louisa and Hubert Hall.
Visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00 AM on Wednesday, January 13th, 2021 followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM at Lucas Funeral Home in Keller, TX. Interment will follow in Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery.
