Lillian Jeannette "Horne" Alexander, lovingly known to all as Jeannette, peacefully passed away on October 16, 2024, at age 86, surrounded by her family.
Jeannette was born on December 10, 1937, in Brownwood, Texas, to Earl Horne and Lillian "Trawick" Horne. She attended Texas Woman's University before briefly transferring to Howard Payne University. She then pursued a dedicated career as an X-ray technician, beginning in 1957, before retiring in 1999.
In 1960, Jeannette met the love of her life, Marion H. Alexander, on a whim at a local Drive-In. After the initial meeting, Marion pursued Jeannette for two years before marrying in Abilene, Texas, on June 1, 1962. They started their family in Brownwood before moving to DeSoto, Texas, where they spent the next 53 years building a life together.
Jeannette dedicated her life to her family, had a passion for country music, and enjoyed traveling, whether to her hometown of Brownwood or across the country with her husband and family. Jeannette's love for church was a cornerstone of her life. She was a devout Christian who found solace and strength in her faith.
Jeannette and Marion relocated in 2022 to an independent senior living community in North Richland Hills, Texas, closer to their beloved church, Christian Life Tabernacle. This move was a testament to their unwavering commitment to their faith and desire to remain active members of their church community.
Jeannette is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Marion H. Alexander; two sisters, Earlene Yeary and Patsy Specht and her loving husband John; two children, Melanie Hegwood and Glen Alexander, and his loving wife, Deja; two grandchildren, Heather Koen, and Zachary Jones; and two great-grandsons, Ethan and Parker Koen.
Jeannette was preceded in death by her mother and father, Earlene Yeary’s husband, Leon, and Heather Koen’s husband, John.
