Linda Joy Behrens

Linda Joy Behrens was born on October 25, 1943 in Des Moines, Iowa to the late Harold and Genevieve Carlson. She went home to be with the Lord on July 30, 2020 in Dallas, Texas as she was surrounded by her family.
Linda served as church organist for many years, playing for countless weddings and funerals. She taught organ, piano, and accordion lessons to many, including her own children and grandchildren. She had a love of flying like her dad and enjoyed traveling. She has always been active in her church and has served on various ministry teams.
She was preceded in death by Russell Harmon, husband of 2 years; her parents; her brother, Harold (Sonny) Carlson; sister, Jeanette James; and great grandson, Preston Stewart.
Linda is survived by her husband of 5 years, Steve Behrens of their home in Celina, Texas; precious children, Doug (Leian) Wright, Traci (Jim) Smith, Greg Wright, Dustin (Debora) Wright; 10 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; 5 stepchildren; and 8 step grandchildren.
An intimate celebration of life service is planned for Thursday, August 13, 2020. Due to Covid restrictions, it will be by invitation only.
Memorial donations may be made in Linda’s honor to Hug A Heart Foundation of Frisco, Texas under the name “Linda” www.hugaheartfoundation.org Hug a heart provides pillows and hats to cancer patients.
