Sweet Linda Southern, a cherished wife, mother, and grandmother, ran to be with Jesus on May 10, 2024, at the age of 77. She was born on September 27, 1946, in Portales, New Mexico to her parents, the late Johnie Cecil Gower and Addie Talmadge Corbitt.
Linda was a dedicated member of The Hills Church, Our Father's Children, Open Arms Homes, Community Enrichment Center, and the Insurance Women of Fort Worth. She was known for her compassionate and generous spirit, always finding ways to serve and uplift those around her. Linda graduated from Lubbock High School and furthered her education at Lubbock Christian College.
Her family brought her immense joy, and she cherished every moment spent with her loving husband of 37 years, Bill Southern, along with her children Wesley Simpson, Kristen Southern, Tara Southern, and Chad Southern and wife, Kimberlee. Linda's legacy is carried on by her 16 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, brother, Dale Gower and numerous dear friends.
Linda is preceded in death by her parents, Johnie and Talmadge Gower, as well as Floyd Simpson, Marcy Gower and several aunts and uncles.
A Celebration of Life to honor Sweet Linda will be held at The Hills Church, North Richland Hills Campus, 6300 NE Loop 820, North Richland Hills, Texas 76180 on June 1, 2024, at 2:00 pm. The community she lovingly served is invited to join in celebrating her life and offering their final goodbyes. Linda's legacy of kindness and devotion will forever be remembered by those whose lives she touched.
