Lisa Bailey, of Southlake, beloved wife, mother, and friend, passed away peacefully on March 9, 2025, after a courageous battle with breast cancer. Surrounded by her loving family in her final moments, Lisa leaves behind a legacy of strength, generosity, and unwavering faith and devotion to her loved ones.
Born on June 24, 1951, in Kampar, Malaysia, Lisa's journey took her across continents, yet her heart always remained deeply connected to the people and places she cherished. For over 40 years, she was a dedicated member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Grapevine, Texas, where her faith and kindness touched the lives of many.
A woman of remarkable intellect and ambition, Lisa began her professional career as a lawyer in Singapore before pursuing a new chapter in the United States. She earned her CPA and MBA in Texas, building an impressive career with Fannie Mae and First Horizon Mortgage Bank. Despite her professional successes, her greatest joy stemmed from raising her two children, Jessica Nathan and John Nathan, whom she saw flourish into accomplished professionals. Lisa was immensely proud of their achievements and the values they carried forward.
An avid traveler, Lisa spoke multiple languages, including English, Malay, Cantonese, and Hokkien. She held a deep passion for crafting, particularly crochet and other needlework, alongside gardening, spending time with animals, bird watching, and cooking. Her culinary creations were a testament of her love and warmth, as she often opened her home, inviting friends to share in meals filled with laughter and joy.
Lisa's generosity knew no bounds. She was the heart of every gathering, making time to connect with friends and family, ensuring that no one felt alone. Even as her life took her far from home, her devotion to her friendships never wavered; she regularly visited her dear friends of over 50 years during her trips back to Singapore.
She is survived by her loving husband of 42 years, Francis Nathan, her devoted children, Jessica Nathan and John Nathan, and a community of family and friends who will forever cherish her kindness, wisdom, and unwavering love.
Lisa’s life was a testament to resilience, faith, and generosity. Though she has left this world, the memories she created and the love she shared will remain in the hearts of those who knew her.
