Lloyd Wayne Thompson

On Monday, September 5, 2022, Wayne Thompson, loving and devoted husband and father of two daughters, passed away at the age of 78.
He was born on February 6, 1944 in Fort Worth, Texas to Bill and Lucile Thompson. Wayne grew up living in many different places, from Alaska to Ecuador. He served two years in the Navy. On February 5, 1966, he married the love of his life, Oneida Castaneda. They raised two daughters, Gina and Julie.
Wayne had a passion for photography and travel. He always had his camera with him and took hundreds of pictures on every vacation and special event. Wayne loved adventure, and travel provided it. Every summer when his daughters were young, he and Oneida took them to the beach. Later, they traveled to the mountains. Once he retired from Allied Aviation, he spent his time either on a cruise ship or planning his next cruise. Wayne had a great sense of humor which made people laugh and feel at ease around him.
Wayne was preceded in death by his father, Bill, and his mother, Lucile. He is survived by his wife, Oneida, his two daughters, Gina Rasmussen (Jim) and Julie Thompson Pierce (Ray), his grandchildren Ethan, Ellie, Mollie and Mason, and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 8th, 2022, from 6-8pm at Lucas Funeral Home in Hurst. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
