Lloyd Lee Tidmore

Lloyd was born on December 25, 1936 in Chillicothe Texas. He attended public schools there and then attended Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene where he began his career in retailing. Before leaving for college in 1955 he married his long time, sweetheart, Phlorene Hunt on May 21, 1955 just two days after graduating from high school. They were blessed with two sons, Michael born in 1958 and Keith born in 1961.

Lloyd worked in retail for over 50 years. While in college, he worked for Thornton’s in Abilene. In 1960 he began a long career with the Dunlap company in Lubbock for 22 years. He then joined Hart Schaefer and Marx where he was president of Washer Brothers for 3 years.

He later joined Dillards as an operations manager, store manager and moved into merchandising cosmetics and fragrances for the Texas stores. In 2001 he was promoted to Director of Advertising for the Dillards stores in Texas where he managed media for 32 Texas markets. Lloyd retired in 2004 due to health issues and to enjoy times with family and friends.Lloyd and Phlo enjoyed traveling and went on several cruises with friends.

He loved his church and cherished his time with Phlo at the North Richland Hills Baptist Church. Lloyd was the Director of the senior Bible class and often asked to teach, which he loved doing.

Preceding him in death are his mother Maurine, his father E.J and brothers Clinton, Gordon, as well as a sister Gwen and his son, Keith.

Lloyd leaves behind his loving and caring wife, Phlo, two great sons, Mike and Keith, a daughter-in-law, Cyndi, grandsons Nick and Austin, granddaughters Erin and Shelby as well as great grandchildren, Hailey, Hannah, and London.

Internment will be in Chillicothe Texas. In lieu of flowers, donations would be appreciated for Cross church in North Richland Hills.
