Lloyd Dwane Tomlinson

June 21, 1939 — July 9, 2023

Lloyd Dwane Tomlinson, life-long resident of Watauga, Texas, passed away early Sunday morning, July 9, 2023. After 35 years of marriage, Lloyd will always be remembered as the loving husband of Mary Tomlinson. He was born in Graham, Texas to Verna Lee and Vavel Raymond "Tommy" Tomlinson. LD was proud and honored to serve as Corporal in the U.S. Marine Corp where he was awarded for his sharpshooter skills. He retired from General Motors after 30 years. His next 30 years were spent traveling, philosophizing and enjoying life with Mary.

Lloyd is survived by his wife, Mary and five children (three by marriage): Dalton Wade Tomlinson, LoriAnn Tomlinson Massara, Dawn Vandorn, Robin Keyes and Kasandra Williams. LD is survived by a sister, Merri Vavela Francis, and a brother, Barry Tomlinson. He has two natural grandchildren, Kendra Hoover and Kahla Morrow, and 19 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his sister Sonia Elaine Buss, his brother, Terry "Lee" Thomas and a child by marriage Randy Simmons.

The funeral service will be held Friday, July 14th at 10 AM, at George's Creek Cemetery in Nemo Texas just outside of Glen Rose with graveside service and U.S. Marine Color Guard, where he will rest next to his mother and father. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to be made to the American Kidney Fund for kidney disease research at www.AmericanKidneyFund.org .
