Lola Lynne Shannon – Lynne to her family & friends – passed away peacefully Monday, November 8, 2021 after a two-year struggle with lung cancer and emphysema. The youngest of nine children, she was born to Clare V. Howell and Margaret A. Biram July 28, 1943 in Valentine, NE (actually July 21, but that’s a story for the Dr. & the clerks…). Lynne grew up in rural Curlew, WA where she was involved in school athletics and loved horses. She married Patrick Shannon in June, 1961 and they had two boys together. She is survived by both of them and their families: John (b.1964), his wife Jill and son Justyn; and Tom (b.1969), his wife LaVonia, their daughter Ar’yea and son Pat. Lynne was divorced in 1987 and she did not re-marry. After retiring from working in the medical supply industry, she moved to the Dallas, TX area in 2007 to be close to her boys again. In her later years she enjoyed puzzles of all kinds, including Sudoku, crosswords and jigsaw puzzles, and she loved gardening of house plants and outdoor roses. She enjoyed the excitement of NASCAR racing, experiencing a 160 mph “ride along” at Texas Motor Speedway in 2016, and she was a die-hard Dale Jr. fan. She loved sitting for the dogs & cats of Tom & Von’s family, and the apple of her eye was and always will be her grandson Justyn.
