Lonnie E. Applin, a loving and devoted husband, brother, father, uncle, grandfather and great-grandfather, passed peacefully in his 67th year at home while surrounded by family and loved ones Tuesday, August 21, 2012.
Funeral: 9 a.m. Friday in Lucas Keller Chapel. Interment: Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Lonnie proudly served his country in the Army and was a Vietnam veteran. On Aug. 12, 1989, he married the love of his life, Marlynn. They shared 23 years of marriage filled with love and laughter. Within those years he was a devoted and loving father and grandfather. He retired in 2009 with 33 years of service at Yellow Freight. Lonnie used his gifts from God to help those less fortunate.
Survivors: Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Marlynn; children, Tommy, Patti, Edward, Steven, Shane and Kevin; brothers, Charlie and Jerry; grandchildren, Sarah, Katie, Kendra, Ashlin, Alison, Adysan, Blake and Mackenzie; great-grandchildren, James and Mason; and many other loved ones.
