Lonnie Ree Willingham

August 2, 1947 — March 20, 2023

Lonnie Ree Willingham was born August 2nd, 1947, and passed away at the age of 75 on March 20th, 2023. Lonnie was preceded in death by his mother Okjuanita (Sanders) Willingham; his father Ralph Willingham; and his brother Robert Lee Willingham.
Lonnie was a retired salesman that enjoyed spending time with his wife of 54 years, Martha, and his devoted dog, Lily Rose. Lonnie spent his childhood in Boyd, Texas and later moved to Bedford, Texas to attend and graduate from L.D. Bell High School. After high school he attended Fort Worth Christian College before joining the Navy. He was incredibly proud of his service in the Vietnam War and would often tell stories of his time on the ship. He served as a “Jack of the dust” and gunners' mate on the USS Towers DDG9 in the New Jersey battle group. He was a charter member of Pipeline Road Church of Christ and is currently a member of Keller Church of Christ. Lonnie had several interests through the years. His favorite times were spent cheering on his oldest son’s football games, coaching his middle son’s baseball teams, and watching his daughter's color guard and violin performances. Lonnie loved music and singing, and he especially enjoyed 60’s music and gospel songs. In his free time, he liked to fish and bird hunt and would spend hours working in the yard. He had three children and two grandchildren who were his pride and joy.
He is survived by his wife, Martha Willingham; brother Drew Willingham; son Blake and his wife Erin; son Britain and his wife Rochelle; daughter Bethany and her fiancé German Wren; and his two grandchildren Brynn and Braden.
