Lorraine "Jiggs" M. Schmear

Lorraine "Jiggs" M. Schmear, 86 of Hurst passed away July 27 in Colleyville.
Memorial Service: Monday, July 31, 10:00 a.m.; Lucas Funeral Home Chapel in Hurst.
Mrs. Schmear was born February 8, 1931 in Levis, Wisconsin to Wayne Short and Rita Martin Short. She loved gardening, sewing, flowers, hummingbirds, butterflies and golf. She also loved old movies and TV shows, including Golden Girls, Little House on The Prairie and MASH. She was known for her great, deep laugh and good sense of humor. Her family remembers her caring for animals and nature, being considerate of others, a genuinely good and nice person and a great daughter, mother and grandmother. She worked as a golf course manager.
Mrs. Schmear is preceded in death by her parents; her first husband and second husband; sister Betty Short and brother Jim Short.
Mrs. Schmear is survived by her daughter Rita (Randy) Powell; granddaughter Stephanie Ried; sister Jeanette Schneider; cousins Gloria Getman and Laura Marx and several nieces and nephews.
