Louann "Lou Lou" Watkins, 80, of Keller, TX, passed away March 11, 2023, after years of battling dementia and diabetes. She was born to Derald and Jean Dalrymple Abner in Glendale, CA. Louann attended Piedmont Nursing School, in Atlanta, GA, where she earned her bachelor's degree and became a Registered Nurse. She loved to sing, attend Keller United Methodist Church any chance she could get, and watch Golf and American Pickers on TV. She loved chicken and dumplings, but a medium rare filet mignon with a loaded baked potato was her all-time favorite.
Louann was predeceased by her parents, Jean and Derald Abner; brother, Gary Abner; daughter Gay Le Watkins; her beloved grandson Connor Watkins; and niece Karen Abner.
She is survived by her husband of over 40 years, James Watkins, of Keller, TX; brother Larry Abner (Shelly), of Surprise, AZ; her children, Maikell Watkins, of Keller, TX, Sherri Knott, of Albuquerque, NM,Kara Watkins, of Los Angeles, CA, Robert Knott of Dallas, TX. She absolutely loved her grandchildren, Stevie Watkins, of Breckenridge, TX, and Taylor Watkins, of Keller, TX. She adored her great grandson, Raylan Watkins. She is also survived by her nieces Lisa Abner Hill(Sam), of Ackworth, GA, Laurie Abner Shank (Brad), of Renton, WA, Melinda Siler (Tim), of Arlington, TX, and Susan Patria (Tim) also of Arlington, TX. She is survived by her longtime friend, Vicki Gage (Dudley), of Rowlett, TX who, with Louann's son, Robert, looked after her at the end of her life and beyond. She will be missed by her grand and great grand-dogs Dottie and Reid.
An intimate celebration of life will be held in Texas on a date to be determined.
