Louise Hess

TROPHY CLUB -- Louise Dunbar Hess passed away Friday, March 22, 2013. Graveside service: 11 a.m. Monday, May 20, in Medlin Cemetery. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Fellowship United Methodist Church in Trophy Club. Louise was born Jan. 10, 1918, in Worchester, Mass., to Agnes and Leon Dunbar. She grew up in Cleveland Heights, Ohio, and attended the University of Ohio. In 1942 she married her high school sweetheart, James O. Hess. They lived in San Diego, Calif., while James served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. In 1950 they moved to Oak Park, Ill., and then to River Forest, Ill., where they raised their four children. Louise was an active member of River Forest Presbyterian Church, the River Forest Tennis Club, Medinah Country Club, numerous bridge clubs, curling and bowling leagues. She was a hospital volunteer and a member of the local women's club. In 1980, Jim and Lou retired to Trophy Club. There she enjoyed her golf, bridge and annual Super Bowl parties. Lou was preceded in death by her husband, Jim, in 2007; her parents; brothers, Leon Jr. and Cedric; and sisters, Virginia and Elizabeth. Survivors: Brother, J. William Dunbar of Bloomingdale, Ill.; sons, James and wife, Alexandra, of Deland, Fla., and Ronald and wife, Andrea, of Johns Creek, Ga.; daughters, Barbara Neff of Naperville, Ill., and Betsy Allen and husband, David, of Grapevine; 10 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
