Lucia Hardin Massey

Lucia Hardin Massey was born on August 28, 1953 in Fort Worth, Texas to the late Monita (Theriot) and James Mervin Hardin. She passed away on November 15, 2021 in Bedford, Texas at the age of 68 years old.

Lucia and her family were from St. Martinsville, Louisiana. She graduated with honors at Diamond Hill High School, going on to her passion of pursuing her dream of helping others with a Master’s degree in Psychology from Dallas Baptist University. She was a beautiful soul who spent her days helping others, but mostly enjoying her grandchildren who called her Grammy. She loved her coffee sweet with creamer, she loved being on her phone or tablet playing games and enjoyed talking about scripture when there was ever a moment someone needed to hear about God’s love. Her favorite foods were anything that swam in the sea, and she could make homemade crawfish Étouffée & her famous lasagna. She enjoyed cooking holiday dinners and spending every moment with her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by her loving husband of 21 years, Michael E. Massey of Euless; daughter, Ashleigh Stotts-Hartnett of Euless; bonus daughter, Alice Zemball and husband, Mike of Cleburne, Texas; niece, Micca Looney and her family; nephew, Michael Braden and his family; stepchildren, Jonathan Massey of Colleyville Jana Reeves and husband, Dan of Owensboro, KY, Amber Woods and husband, Todd of Bedford, Texas; son-in-love, Christopher Hartnett of Bedford, Texas; grandchildren, Mackenzie Hartnett, Madalynne Hartnett, Christian Hartnett and Ashtian Hartnett; bonus grandchildren, Victor, Ethan, Ryan, Melanie, Emma, Nate, Austen, and Bryce.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., Friday, November 19, 2021 at Lucas Funeral Home in Hurst. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, November 20, 2021 at Cross City Church in Euless with Dr. Jeff Rees officiating and interment following at Calloway Cemetery in Euless.
