Luetta Lue Maslonka

On Saturday, July 25, 2020, Luetta Lue Maslonka passed away in Grapevine, TX after a brief illness.
Lue was born on February 25, 1930 in Sacramento, California. She was the third of four children born to Jay and Aletta Ressler.
She graduated from Sacramento High School. She married John Maslonka on August 20, 1949 in Sacramento, and the couple soon relocated to Shasta County where they raised their family.
John and Lue were longtime members of St Joseph Catholic church in Redding, CA. They were avid boaters, and they spent many summers enjoying boating, camping, and water skiing at Shasta Lake.
Lue worked for several years as a teaching assistant at Junction Elementary School in Shasta County. She loved to cook – desserts and candies were her specialty. She also enjoyed making crafts including jewelry and greeting cards. She loved to dance, and those who knew her will remember her warm disposition and greeting everyone with a big smile.
Lue is preceded in death by her husband John Maslonka and her daughter Carol Maslonka.
Lue is survived by her son Stephen Maslonka and his wife Tamara of Keller, TX; sisters Betty Conway of Folsom, CA and Jaynett Shaw of Windsor, CA; grandchildren Kyle Maslonka of Pacific Beach, CA, Kip Maslonka and his wife Alyssa of Grand Prairie, TX, Cerah Rowley of NYC, and James Rowley and his wife Morgan of Folsom, CA; great-grandchildren Elizabeth and Annabelle Rowley of Folsom, CA.
A graveside service for Luetta Maslonka will be at 10:00 AM on Tuesday August 4th, 2020 at St. Joseph Cemetery in Redding, CA.
