Adored son, brother, and friend, Luke Thomas Heindselman, 14, passed away Tuesday, March 21, 2017. The son of Mark and Julie (Heinzer) Heindselman, Luke was born in Grapevine, Texas on September 9, 2002.
Luke was in 8th grade at Westlake Academy. A gifted athlete, Luke played baseball, lacrosse, basketball, and football, where he flourished in his role as team captain.
From his toddler days until his passing, Luke was an avid outdoorsman with a passion for fishing and exploring nature. Luke treasured escaping to the family's property in Oklahoma, where he reconnected with nature and enjoyed time with family.
Luke's name was chosen for its meaning "giver of light." His character and daily demeanor exemplified this through his kind-heartedness, thoughtfulness, and gentle, caring spirit. A born leader, his work ethic and humility made him an inspiring role model for others. Already 6 feet tall, Luke was a gentle giant and protector of others, especially his younger sister. As physically big as he was, he had a personality that matched with a sly smile, quick wit, and those huge, trademark dimples.
Luke attended Keystone Church, committed his life to Christ, and was baptized at 12 years old by his youth pastor, Rob Patterson.
In addition to his parents, Luke is survived by his siblings Grant and Kate Heindselman, as well as his grandparents Jon and Merry Bryan Heindselman of Calera, OK and Paul and Ethelene Heinzer of The Woodlands, TX. Additionally, Luke will be missed by his many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
