Madee Audelia (Dee) Shaunfield passed away peacefully Friday September 11, 2015 surrounded by loved ones in Austin, Texas, after celebrating her 99th birthday a week earlier. She was married to Lee Shaunfield for over 56 years before his passing in 1996. Eleven siblings preceded her in death. She is survived by children Wallace and Freda Shaunfield of Canyon Lake, Texas, George and Rayna Shaunfield of Dickinson, Texas, DeeLee and Greg Burk of Dripping Springs, Texas, six grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren.
Dee was born September 4, 1916 in Jacksboro, Texas to James and Mary Isabele Ramzy. She lived most of her married life in Fort Worth, Texas. She served many years as church secretary at Polytechnic Baptist Church and retired in 1981 from Texas Wesleyan University as registrar’s secretary.
Dee accepted Christ at a very early age and lived the example of a true Christian. She was an active member of Polytechnic Baptist Church for many years where she taught Sunday School. She moved to Houston in 1997 where she was an active member of Wilcrest Baptist Church. In 2007 she moved to Stonebridge Health Center in Austin, Texas where she resided until death.
Dee loved growing plants and was active in the Garden Club for many years. She loved volunteering at church, at the hospital, and her AARP group. She was a loving and caring
mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
Viewing will be Friday, September 18 from 11 am to 1 pm at Lucas Funeral Home in Hurst, Texas. Graveside services will be Friday, September 18 at 2 pm at Shannon Rose Hill Cemetery in Fort Worth, Texas.
