Madge Laverne Martin

Madge LaVerne (Marcum) Martin was born on January 2, 1924 in Keller, Texas to the late John Wesley Marcum and Florence Anna Crites Marcum. She went home to be with the Lord on June 19, 2022. Madge attended Keller Elementary School in 1937 and graduated Riverside High School in 1941. She attended two years at Southern Business College. Madge worked and retired from Lockheed Martin (formerly General Dynamics) after 20 years and was a member of IAM union. Madge was married to Marion Browning of Lohn, Texas, the father of her children for 27 years. Madge’s church affiliation was with Christian Center of Fort Worth and adored her time there with friends and especially fond of Steven VanZant and his wife, Gay.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter, Gerri Joyce Cain; her siblings, Johnny W. Marcum, Bill Marcum and Linda Sue Marcum. Madge is survived by her daughter, Marian Fowler of Argyle; son, Terry A. Browning and wife, Dee of North Richland Hills and son, Tony Browning and wife, Cindi of Justin; 13 grandchildren, Jimmy, Jill, Micki, Debbi, Shelli, Jamie, Kevin, Nick. Keith, Brittney, Gregg, Chase and Aaron; 16 Great-Grandchildren and 8 Great-Great Grandchildren; extended family and a host of friends.

Service will be held at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, June 25, 2022 at Lucas Funeral Home Chapel in Hurst followed by interment at Smithfield Cemetery.
