Madonna Diana Brislane died Thursday morning, August 1, 2024, at the Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital in Fort Worth, Texas, following a sudden heart attack two weeks prior.
Madonna was born on March 8, 1968, to loving parents Patrick Joseph Brislane, Jr., III, and Bonnie Ellen French Brislane in San Luis Obispo, California. Growing up in California’s Central Coast inspired Madonna’s artistic passions. Art, drawing, photography and music - especially playing her guitars - were special interests and talents. Madonna’s Christian faith was strong; she enjoyed singing the old hymns and worshiping God.
Madonna and her wife, Jane Gustafson, followed career opportunities to Arizona, Minnesota, Washington, and California, arriving finally in Texas. Her recent positions were with BNSF Railroad, as a Claims Adjuster, and currently with TriWest Healthcare Alliance as an Analyst (2018-2024) and since June 2024 as Supervisor, Claims Support.
Madonna graduated summa cum laude from the University of Phoenix (BS - Healthcare Management) June 2024.
Madonna was preceded in death by her mother, Bonnie Brislane, and her wife, Jane Gustafson.
Madonna is survived by her father, Patrick Brislane and dear cocker spaniels, Barkley and Spencer, living with her in Fort Worth, Texas. Her three young great nieces, Emily, Lauren and Olivia Knutson were her great delight. A very special bond was created with Olivia, her treasured goddaughter.
Other family members include sister-in-law Mary Engan, brother-in-law David (Carol) Gustafson, nephews Bruce Gustafson and Chad Engan, and her niece Arin (Jayson) Knutson. Distant cousins and numerous friends in several states all miss her dearly.
Madonna will be buried next to her wife, Jane Gustafson, at the Howard Lake Cemetery in Howard Lake, Minnesota.
