Malcolm Ermane Rogers, 67, Died Friday June 2nd 2017 at Grapevine Medical following a ten year brave battle with cancer.
He leaves behind his wife of 43 years, D’Ann Rogers his daughter Nicole Wilkins of Lawrenceville Georgia (Glen) daughter Erica Rasmussen of Haslet (Erik), 6 grandchildren Abigail, Miles, Jonas, Elizabeth, Grace, and Elijah Malcolm. Three living brothers Jim (Norma), Bobbie, Mickey (Karla) all of New Mexico. Mother and father-in-law Jean and Loran of Clovis, sister-in-law Gwynne Whitted of Clovis and many nieces and nephews. Dear friends Steve and Jan Hurst, Guy and Susan Boucher, and Peggy and Keith Crawford. He was preceded in death by his mom and dad Woodrow and Pauline and three brothers Don, Doug, and Buddy sister-in-law’s Sue Rogers and Mary Clyde Rogers.
He was born and raised in Melrose New Mexico and was the sixth brother of seven sons. He was a star basketball player in high school, loved to write poetry, and listened to music constantly. Graduated from Eastern New Mexico University and then started a 37 year career with BNSF Railroad and retired in 2009. He met the love of his life dragging Main Street in Clovis New Mexico. Malcolm had a great love for family, knowledge of the Bible, loved sports, a great slapstick sense of humor, and was a member of the Keller Church of Christ. In early years he loved to work in his yard, go for long walks with his wife, and enjoyed going to the movies with dear friends. He was a wonderful husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, uncle, and brother and will be missed by all.
A memorial service will be at 11am on Thursday, June 8, 2017 at the Keller Church of Christ. The family will start receiving friends at the church after 10:15am.
