Malinda "Mindy" Diane Kendrix, 46, went home to heaven on Tuesday, November 28, 2017 after an aggressive fight with lung cancer and leukemia that she battled for two years.
Mindy lived everyday as it was given to her and she made sure her family was taken care of, as she always put her family first. At a young age, Mindy put others before herself, ensuring her siblings were her top priority. If anyone was going to pick on them it was only aloud to be her. Later she would have two daughters that changed everything. Nothing was going to get in the way of her and her babies. Mindy made every second count in everything she did. She found the man of her dreams when she was just 24 years old and married him on April 20, 1996. Her family grew as she welcomed her husband and two step-children with open arms, and continues such growth with each addition of grandchildren. Mindy's hobbies included: cooking new recipes and spending time with her family. She devoted much of her time and energy as a caregiver to family members, including her mother until she passed away at the age of 74, and her oldest grandson, Kayson, who has lived with them for most of the last two years. Mindy's legacy will continue to live on through each person she impacted throughout her lifetime. FIGHT LIKE MINDY!
Mindy was preceded in death by her mother, Priscilla Owen.

An Angel
An angel lived among us,
A gift from God above.
She showered us with kindness
And shared with us her love.
She cherished every moment
With the man who was her life;
Walking in hand in hand together,
Facing life with all its strife.
She loved her children dearly,
Each one a different way,
Nestled close within her heart.
Though, now, she's far away.
She's gone to live with Jesus.
But, she's here with us, today,
Smiling down on every one of us,
And telling us she's ok.
