Marcia Willett Allen

April 1, 1960 — April 14, 2023

Marcia Lynne Lloyd Willett Allen Prevette

Marica Willett Allen, 63, passed peacefully on April 14th, 2023, in Grapevine, TX after an extended and hard-fought battle with cancer. Born April 1, 1960, in Wichita Falls, TX to John Weber and Carol Bishop Lloyd, Marcia grew up in Farmersville, TX. She moved to Grapevine, TX in 1984, where she lived the remainder of her life.

A Celebration of Marcia's life will be held on Thursday, April 27, 2023, at 10:00am at the First United Methodist Church of Grapevine, 422 Church St. Grapevine, TX 76051.

Marcia (Mar-see-a) often laughed at her whole name and said she dreaded her obituary having all of that on it. Truth be known, she actually had much happiness with each of her last names, and finally stuck with Allen because it was at the top of the alphabet, and every time she changed her name it was a problem getting all the insurance licenses, etc. changed. It was just easier to never change again. She became a little set in her ways.
Known as:
Marcy to her family and friends
Moxie to her grandkids
She also answered to Mar-see-a, and Marsha, Maria and Maricella…. She wasn’t concerned with the pronunciation of her name.

Marcia was first married to Curtis Willett, with whom she has an awesome son, Monte Willett. Later she married Wayne Allen, and she was blessed to have two very special stepdaughters, Allison Kersh and Sarah Herrell. Later in life, Marcia enjoyed a short, but loving marriage with Tad Prevette by whom she gained stepson TJ Prevette and stepdaughter Leia Raymond. She has enjoyed having extended family and has stayed close with them all.

Marcia became a licensed real estate agent before graduating high school, and two years later became a broker. She worked in banking for 10 years, owned convenience stores for 19 years, and finished her professional career as an Agent for Texas Farm Bureau Insurance and Southern Farm Bureau Life Insurance from 2002 to 2023 for over 21 years. She was fulfilled with the opportunity to help her clients with their financial decisions.

She continued her education throughout her life, attaining several insurance designations, including LUTCF, FSS, and CLU®. She was a Registered Representative for some time and kept up with continuing education for her Real Estate Brokers License. She maintained her Real Estate License, using it to manage 35 rental units in downtown Grapevine from 1995-2002.

As a Convenience Store Owner from 1984-2002, Marcia: Owned the first business in Grapevine to sell wine in 1993, had the highest Lotto Sales in Grapevine 1992-2001, and owned the first business in Roanoke to sell beer in 2000.

At Farm Bureau, Marcia had the opportunity to travel, including a Mediterranean Cruise with stops in Rome, Monte Carlo, Florence, and enjoyed an Alaskan Cruise. She liked to travel; however, she was also happy staying close to home with her dogs: Bentley, Johnny, Max, Precious and Scrappy. Throughout her life, Marcia enjoyed the companionship of her dogs, and will be happy to re-unite with them in heaven.

Marcia had many volunteer responsibilities over the years. She was an active Steering Committee Member for GrapeFest and Main Street Fest from 1988 -2018 (30 Years). She loved her Festival Friends and the sense of comradery in working with and watching so many people come together for the common goal. She was Volunteer of the Year in 2018.

She was a member of the Grapevine Chamber of Commerce, most years from 1988-present, participating in the first Leadership Grapevine Class of 1992, and contributing many years to the later classes.

Marcia was the first Chair, a founding member, of the Grapevine Wine Pouring Society, receiving the Vintage Leadership Award 1995-96.

She was also a member of: The Grapevine Heritage Foundation, The Grapevine Historical Society (where she served as Treasurer for 2 years), The Kathee Livengood Scholarship Committee and the Grapevine Elks Lodge BPOE #2483

Marcia was very proud to live in Grapevine, she was thankful to raise her son here, and loved the community, its people, and all the friends she made.

Marcia enjoyed many good friends. She loved life, and always tried to be a positive, productive member of society.
