"BELIEVE"...One word adorned the kitchen counter of this beloved woman's home for many years of her life that captured the essence of the life she led. A life of deep faith in God, and belief in the beauty and goodness of others.

Born during the Christmas holiday season at the height of the Great Depression to Russell J. Hickey Sr. and Mary Q. Hickey of Madison, Wis., as the youngest child into a family of three siblings: Russell J Hickey Jr. (deceased); Mary H. Riley (deceased); and Jerry C. Hickey of Milwaukee, Wis. "Belief" was top of mind for the world at the time Margaret entered into it. The magic and belief that are synonymous with the Christmas season became pervasive throughout Margaret's life and the season itself was an important symbol of her everyday beliefs -- extending the season throughout every day of Margaret's 75 years. A 1954 graduate of West High School in Madison,WI; Margaret believed in others as demonstrated by her role there as a cheerleader, and it was there in ninth grade that she met the love of her life in her best friend, Bill Sherlock, whom she would date and eventually marry five years after graduation, in 1959. Margaret was a believer in her husband's career while her career focused initially on raising a family; followed by her belief in her own talents which focused on the world of real estate. Having spent many years working with contractors, shopping for homes with relocating friends, and building new homes for the family in their various locations -- Margaret identified her own passion for real estate and became a licensed agent. Margaret joined Ebby Halliday Realty in 1987 where she would quickly become a prominent Realtor in Northeast Tarrant County and frequently be recognized as a top, award-winning producer for the next 20 years. An achiever, Margaret received multiple "Agent of the Year," "Star" awards; and had been associated most recently for the past five years with Mike Bowman Century 21 Realty of Grapevine. Margaret's belief in herself was enthusiastically endorsed by others including her clients, her co-workers, and the press as "D" Magazine recognized Margaret as one of the top 100 Realtors of Dallas/Fort Worth.

Margaret believed in the strength and bond of friendship and made many lifelong friends throughout her future transient events moving from their familial home of Madison, Wis., and residing in Wausau, Wis., on two separate occasions; Sun Prairie, Wis.; East Brunswick, N.J.; Trumbell, Conn.; Muskegon, Mich.; Durham, N.C.; and for the past 27 years called Colleyville home.

A believer in helping others, Margaret was an empathic supporter of her friends - particularly at their times of need, in good times and in bad, in sickness and health - Margaret believed in the bond of friendship as strongly as her familial and marriage bonds. Margaret was also a strong supporter of Camp Sweeney for Diabetic Youth, Tarrant County Meals on Wheels, Good Shepherd Catholic Community of Colleyville, and the Catholic Charities of Forth Worth. The family believes Margaret would have wanted any contributions in remembrance of her directed toward any of these groups. Margaret's Catholic faith was an important part of her life and belief system and she was a member of the Good Shepherd Catholic Community of Colleyville, where she was an enthusiastic participant to share her beliefs and volunteer. One woman. One word. Through Margaret Sherlock's life we celebrate its true meaning and congratulate her on a job well done in teaching it to us by way of example...

Believe.
