Margaret Ruth “Peggy” Richmond Waldrop, 85, of Venus, Texas, passed away Friday March 26, 2021 surrounded by her loving children and devoted husband. Peggy was born in Baltimore, Maryland on July 13, 1935. She graduated from Pampa High and attended Texas State College for Women of Denton now known as Texas Women’s University. Peggy worked as a school teacher at St. Matthews Episcopal Church, before marrying Lewis Don Waldrop on June 1, 1957. She enjoyed raising her children along with sewing, cooking, entertaining, making greeting cards, and playing bridge and 42 with friends. She also thoroughly loved and enjoyed her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Peggy loved Jesus and liked to read her bible, attend church and fellowship. Peggy’s love and kind heart were a gift to all who knew her. Peggy also liked to travel and was able to journey to many places including Australia, New Zealand, Germany, Denmark, Great Britain, Jordan and Israel along with several trips to Canada and Mexico. Peggy did enjoy taking a cruise now and again to both the Caribbean and to Alaska. Family was extremely important to Peggy, and she loved reunions with her siblings and other family members.
Peggy is preceded in death by her mother, Ina Richmond; father, George Fredrick Richmond; sister, June Johnson; brother, George Richmond; and daughter, Alice Lynn Fuller. She is survived by her husband Lewis Don Waldrop; son, Alan Waldrop; daughter, Grace Bradley; grandchildren, Chelton O’Leary, Mica Inaba, and Tyler Waldrop; great grandchildren, Lewis O’Leary and Sydney O’Leary; sisters, Alice Marie Buske, and Paula Foelker; and brother Phillip Richmond.
