Margie Cleo Allen, 68, passed away late in the evening on Monday, March 28, 2016 in Fort Worth, Texas following back surgery. She was born to Barbara Ann and SC Myers Jr. on October 11, 1947 in Lubbock, Texas.

She moved to Dallas in her early twenty’s where she soon met her husband Eddie Carroll Allen. They were married on November 27, 1972 in Odessa, Texas. They were married for 43 years.

Margie worked for Irving ISD for many years. She started as an office aid and pre-k bilingual aid at John Haley Elementary. She then served as the secretary for the administration’s Fine Arts Department. She retired around 2009 so that she could enjoy staying home with her grandkids. She cared for her aging parents until they passed in September of 2015.

Outside of work, Margie loved education and she taught a first grade Sunday school class at Plymouth Park Baptist Church for 15 years. She also loved working with ceramics, going to the beach, and shopping.

Margie was preceded in death by her parents, Barbara Ann and SC Myers Jr.

Margie is survived by her husband Eddie Carroll Allen; brother: SC Myers III and wife Georgia Elizabeth; daughters: Kris Ann Allen, Amy Lynn, Laura Beth and husband Arthur; grandchildren: Alexis Faith, Jordan Danielle, Logan Lee, Scarlett Isabella, Madison Leah and Ethan Elijah Buster; and grand dogs: Bella, Penny, and Leo.

Service: 11 a.m. Friday at Lucas Funeral Home, Keller.

Visitation: 10 a.m. Friday, prior to the service. Burial will be private at DFW National Cemetery.
Margie was born October 11, 1947 to S.C. and Barbara (McKinley) Myers in Lubbock.
