Margo graduated from Texas Christian University in 1962. She then embarked on a career as an executive assistant, working the next 28 years for various executives of TU Electric. Later she would be the executive assistant to the senior pastor of North Richland Hills Baptist church until her retirement. On August 25, 1962, she married the love of her life, Robert (Bob) Carstarphen. During their marriage, they enjoyed lots of travel, church service opportunities, and mission trips through their home church, North Richland Hills Baptist church, now Cross Church, which they joined in 1970. Bob and Margo together loved people well. Margo was generous and very gifted in hospitality. Many friends and family members enjoyed a dinner, movie, holiday party or a cup of coffee in their home. Everyone was always welcome to be a member of their family. With Bob, Margo also served in adult ministry at their church, often taking care of, counseling, and encouraging many of their young couples in marriage. Margo had a true heart of service to others. She also had a love for landscaping. She would dream it up, and Bob would see it through to fruition until Margo‘s heart was satisfied. They shared a unique and wonderful marriage. Not having any children of their own, Bob and Margo adopted many around them in love.
She is preceded in death by her father James Pippen, mother and stepfather, Mabyl and Del Miller, her Aunt Joan Greenwald, and her husband, Robert Edward Carstarphen III.
She is survived by several cousins, friends, and those who consider themselves family.
