Dr. Mark Claassen, aged 83, passed away on March 22, 2023, at his home in Roanoke, Texas.
Dr. Claassen was born on December 10, 1939, in Beatrice, Nebraska to Menno and Sara Claassen. He is survived by his wife, Lillian, and children, Lorraine, Brian and Steven, and his sisters, Sara and Eleanor.
Mark’s greatest goals were to live a life of love and service to God, to be a good husband and father, and to feed the hungry through his service work in South America as well as through his position as a Professor of Agronomy and Agronomist in Charge of the Cornbelt Experiment Field in northeast Kansas, and later at the Harvey County Experiment Field in Hesston, KS.
His greatest joys came from time with his beloved wife, children, and grandchildren, and from seeing them grow to know, love, and serve God.
