Martha Sue Shelton

November 25, 1956 — January 28, 2020

After a long illness, our Benevolent and Gracious God called our sister home. There were no cures to come, no more meds to take…all that could have been done was done. Taking her peacefully while she slept, God has made her well and has taken away all of her pain.

Martha was born in Dallas, Texas on November 25, 1956. She was the third daughter of Thomas “Nick” and Billie Jean Shook McCommas and granddaughter to Cyril and Lessie Seabolt Shook, all of Rockwall, Texas and Thomas Sr. and Irene McCommas of Houston, Texas who preceded her in death.

Martha is survived by her sisters, Margaret Springer of Garland, Marsha Haywood and husband Robert of Keller, Marla Ferguson and husband Craig of Farmers Branch and her brother Bobby Joe McCommas and his wife Anne of Duncanville. She was an aunt to Robyn Trantham, Bryan Aber, Nathan Springer, Justin Springer, Sheree Walls, Taylor Tillotson and a great aunt to five grand nieces and nephews.

Martha loved spend time in the kitchen. Her friends will miss her famous banana nut bread. She loved to listen to the music of Michael Jackson and watch her favorite TV programs Criminal Minds and the Food Network. She was a good friend to so many.

A “Celebration of Life” service will be held at Lucas Funeral Home, 1601 S Main Street (Hwy 377) in Keller, Texas on Saturday, February 8th at 10:00am.
