M.G. "Marty" Mefferd, 84, went to be with the Lord on March 2, 2016.

Marty was born September 28, 1931 in Woodbine, Iowa. He served in the Army during the Korean War.
Marty went on to graduate from the University of Iowa with a B.A. Degree in Geology in 1957. He also graduated from Vocational Study at University of California at Los Angeles and studied Petroleum Reservoir Engineering at University of Southern California.
He started working for the state of California in October 1959 as Junior Assistant Engineer working his way up to State Oil and Gas Supervisor, which he held until December 1991.
After retirement, he did private consulting work for two years. He, then, became Executive Director of the Conservation Committee of California Oil and Gas Producers for five years and fully retired in Boise, Idaho in 1999. In 2006, he relocated to Keller, Texas.
Survivors: Loving wife of 22 years, Karen S. Mefferd; two sons, Patrick and his family of Sacramento, CA, and Scott and his family of Casper, Wyo; sister, Delores Wilson of Highland, CA.
