September 13, 1945 — December 12, 2017

Marvelyn Manke passed away on December 12, 2017 at home in Euless, Texas.

Visitation: Friday, December 15, 2017 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. She will be laid to rest at Rosebud Cemetery, Bonesteel, South Dakota on Tuesday December 19, 2017.

Marvelyn was born on September 13, 1945 in Mitchell South Dakota to parents, Vernal and Flerida Glynn.
Marvelyn Manke was a woman of God who loved and cherished her family beyond what words could describe. She was selfless and her heart of gold always set the perfect mood for those surrounding her. Her love for God and her family was the foundation of the beautiful life she had built. Growing up Marvelyn had wonderful times out dancing with her parents and younger sister, she spoke of those memories fondly. As a working mother of four she was always putting her children first and determined to love them with everything she had. Her role as a grand-parent and great-grandparent was purely where her happiness came from. Receiving their love and affection just made her days, it did not get any better than that for her. Marvelyn enjoyed reading her scriptures and sharing the word of our Lord. Whether you were going through a struggle, or a joyous time, she had a scripture for it! In spare time, she spent many days shopping, always for those who surrounded her. If you were out and about shopping with her, you had to keep up! Playing cards was a passion she handed down to many generations. Through playing cards you shared much laughter and many endless smiles that made your cheeks hurt. Marvelyn would want her family to celebrate her life by spreading the love, kindness, and prayer that she instilled into our lives. Even though she does not walk this Earth with us, she will always be in our hearts and forever there to guide us.

She is survived by: son Kerry Odenbach and wife Bobbi, daughter Carmen Cox, son Lemars Manke, daughter Lavonne Smith and spouse Richard Roper, and son-in-law Paul Smith; grandchildren, Cory Manke, Shawndraya Ferro and husband Darick, Chase Smith, Chantel Vincent and husband Casey, Shayne Clements, TJ Harrell, Kandi Harrell, Kylie Smith, and Kaiden Smith; great-grandchildren: Aurora Roper, Paisley Ferro, Carson Vincent, Evelyn Ferro, and Twyla Higginbotham; and many other extended family and friends.
