Marvin Bernard Defauw, age 85, passed away on Tuesday, April 4, 2023 at his daughter Carol’s home in College Station, TX. Beloved husband of the late Regina Rose Defauw. Dear father to Denise, Terri, Carol, Larry (Trish) and step-father to Tim (DeAnne) and Leanne (John). Loving grandfather to thirteen grandchildren and step-grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Marvin was born on April 6, 1937 in Detroit, Michigan to the late August and the late Marie Defauw. Marvin was born and raised in Detroit. After high school, he joined the Air Force Reserves and went on to earn a Bachelors of Science, Mechanical Engineering degree from University of Detroit. After college graduation, Marvin accepted a position at IBM where he spent the entirety of his career.
Marvin was a family man with deep connections to his church community and the Knights of Columbus council #6269 in Arlington, TX. Marvin enjoyed an active lifestyle playing handball, softball, golf, and waterskiing with his children when they were still at home. Marv enjoyed watching the Texas Rangers, Dallas Cowboys and Dallas Mavericks. He was a devoted husband, father, and Catholic. He will be missed by his children, grandchildren, and all who knew him.

Visitation will take place on Sunday, April 16 from 4 pm - 6 pm with the Rosary being said at 5 at Lucas Funeral Home, 1321 Precinct Line Rd, Hurst, TX. A Funeral Mass will take place Monday, April 17 at 10 am at Good Shepherd Catholic Community, 1000 Tinker Rd, Colleyville, TX with a reception provided by the Bethany Ministry to immediately follow the Funeral Mass.
