Marvin Dewayne Rutherford was born on January 7th, 1936 to loving parents Stanley E. Rutherford and Jessie Cole Rutherford in Lebanon, Oklahoma. At the age of 15, Marvin began his career in the container industry sweeping flowers in a Fort Worth plant that made folding cartons. Soon after he was promoted to Plant Manager and continued to climb the ladder in the industry over several decades. Marvin eventually retired in the late 1990’s as Vice President of Rex Packaging, which headquartered in Jacksonville, Florida.

He enjoyed talking on the phone with family and friends, watching old western movies, and listening to music. During the last year of his life, he lived with his daughter, son-in-law, and grandson. He cherished this time and never missed any of the social gatherings or parties held at home. Marvin loved to joke around and play tricks; he had a zest for life and was beloved by all who knew him.
