Mary Elizabeth Franchini Albaugh
Mary Elizabeth Franchini Albaugh, 82, met her Lord and Savior on Sunday, May 5, 2024, in Madison, Florida. Mary was born in Horry County, South Carolina, to the late August Franchini and Mary Lou Jay Franchini Graham on December 20, 1941. She loved growing up in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. She was a true Carolina girl.
She served her country as a faithful military spouse, creative homemaker, as well as served at several churches as an administrative assistant and business administrator. She loved being a United States Air Force wife and would often say that her children were the best souvenirs from their overseas duty because they were born when her husband served in England at Lakenheath, AFB. Her love for her husband and family was evident by the ways she unselfishly served and loved them.
As her family moved, she served as a Children’s Sunday school teacher at many churches. She desired for every child to know Jesus as their personal Lord and Savior. During her retirement years, she loved spending time with her family and friends, serving in her church, flower gardening, sewing and learning many new crafts.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Fredrick Gene Albaugh, Sr. She is survived by her daughter, Celeste Albaugh Guthrie (Tim) of Tallahassee, Florida; her son, Fredrick Gene Albaugh, Jr. (Kristen) of Germantown, Tennessee; her four amazing grandchildren, Elijah Fredrick Albaugh, Aaron John Albaugh, Gracelyn Ruth Albaugh, and Hannah Lea Albaugh, of Germantown, Tennessee; her brothers, Alfred Franchini of Redlands, California, August Franchini of Atlanta, Georgia, and Archie Franchini of Charleston, South Carolina; her furry child, SweetPea (whom her children thought she spoiled way too much) of Tallahassee, Florida.
In lieu of flowers, her children request that donations be made, in her memory, to two organizations that meant so much to her. Bradfordville First Baptist Church, in the memo line “Good News Club”, 6524 Thomasville Road, Tallahassee, Florida 32312 or to the St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
A private family Committal Service will take place after the Funeral Service.
