Mary Nell Apple

NORTH RICHLAND HILLS -- Mary Nell Apple, 89, departed for haven on Saturday, Aug. 9, 2014.
Funeral: 3 p.m. Tuesday at the Richland Hills United Methodist Church, 7301 Glenview Drive, North Richland Hills. Interment: Aledo Cemetery. Visitation: The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Lucas Funeral Home, 1321 Precinct Line Road, Hurst.
Mary Nell was born in Jermyn on Aug. 15, 1924. After graduation she attended Kiowa County College in Hobart, Okla., and then Texas Wesleyan College in Fort Worth. She started her banking career at Union National Bank in Houston and retired from Riverside State Bank, Fort Worth, in 1981 after 26 years of service. She was a member of Richland Hills United Methodist Church and Haltom City Chapter 982 Order of the Eastern Star.
She was a loyal wife, a caring mother, an influential grandmother and a great legacy to all her great-grandchildren. She will be missed and loved by all of those who were fortunate to share life with her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Sherman Apple; daughter, Cynthia McCoy; and sisters, Nelda Jones, Odell Iverson and Lavena Winfree.
Survivors: Son, Chris Jones III and his wife, Shirley; sister, Ava Lea Gray of Winston-Salem, N.C.; grandsons, Chris Jones IV and his wife, Kylie, Jeremy Todd Jones and his wife, Jana, and David McCoy and his wife, Laurie; great-grandchildren, Brianna, Madison, Emma and Walker Jones, and Molly and Thomas McCoy.
