Mary Catherine Bensmiller Armstrong, 80, loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away Monday, Feb. 1, 2021. Funeral Mass: 10:00 a.m. Monday at St. Michael Catholic Church, 3712 Harwood Road, Bedford. Visitation: The family will receive friends 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. Sunday at Lucas Funeral Home, Hurst, with a rosary beginning at 3:00 p.m.

Mary loved spending time with her family. She was a devout volunteer at the Knights of Columbus and highly active in Leisure years until she went into assisted living in 2017. She remained highly active in her assisted living as a member of the residence council and food committee and could always be found playing card games with her neighbors. Her generosity and kindness touched many lives, and she will be truly missed by many. Mary was born in Des Moines, Iowa to James and Veronica Bensmiller on Sept. 3, 1940.
Her love for organization showed through her many years of work as a secretary and office manager. She retired in 1992 alongside her husband. Mary lived in many places including Iowa, Alaska, England, Illinois, Oklahoma, Arizona and Fort Worth. There is a joy in heaven as Mary is reunited with her Husband, Harry Armstrong; her daughter, Monique Vann; her parents, James and Veronica Bensmiller; and her brothers, Robert and Earl Bensmiller. Survivors: Her daughter, Angelique Mickle; son-in-law, Brandy Vann; wonderful grandchildren, Brandy Jr. and wife Tessa, Monica and Kathryn Vann and Rebecca and Kyrstin Mickle; precious great-grandchildren Harper Vann, Zayden Vann and another Vann on the way; sisters, Carolyn Kelly, Fran Lanning (Nile), and Linda Ridgeway (Larry); brother, Dale Bensmiller; sister-in-law, Ruth Bensmiller-Reed; many nephews and nieces; and a magnitude of friends.
