Betty Allen passed from this life Wednesday, December 6, 2017, in Sugar Land, Texas, where she resided the past two years, although her “real” home was Fort Worth, where she spent most of her adult years. Betty was born July 7, 1928, and spent her early years in Malakoff, Texas. She graduated from Amon Carter Riverside High School and raised two kids with her husband of 49 years, A.G. (Sam) Allen. Following his death in 1996, Betty took to the road and travelled the world from Panama to the Mediterranean.
The most important part of her life was her family. She is survived by two children, Sidney Wayne (Kathy) and Cynthia Carol (Mike) Tanner. Also surviving are four grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews and loving friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and five siblings. A graveside service is scheduled Saturday, December 9, 11:00 a.m., at the Greenwood/Mt. Olivet Cemetery on North Sylvania Avenue in Fort Worth.
Memorials may be forwarded to the Shrine Crippled Children’s Hospital and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
