In the early evening hours of Friday, July 19, 2024, Mary Nancy Rhomelle's adventure in this lifetime came to an end, as she was called back to her heavenly resting place. Rhomelle was born on February 9, 1934 in Fitzgerald (Ben Hill County) Georgia to Samuel Lamar and Ethel Mae (Minshew) Livingston. After the death of her father Sam, the family closed his grocery store business and later moved to Fort Worth Texas. She graduated from R. L. Paschal High School in Fort Worth Texas.
On June 3, 1952 she married Leeman Washington Bollinger and had two sons.
The family owned Bollinger Mobile Homes, on E. Belknap St, Haltom City, in the 1960's, where Rhomelle applied her interior decorating skills to the Mobile Home models. Rhomelle sold and styled wigs and operated a used clothing store, and was a collector of antiques and other treasures. She loved fashion, she had a creative spirit that loved to decorate and create arrangements with anything she found.
Those who knew Rhomelle knew there were five true loves outside of her love for her Lord and Savior.
She loved her home on Woodcrest; she loved her sons, Rommie and Rodney; Elvis Presley; and Coffee...Oh, and her purse! That purse was never far from her reach. She put everything in it. The nursing home weighed it and it weighed 17 pounds. Rhomelle loved to tell the story of how she met Elvis when Rommie was 3 years old at a gas station somewhere in Fort Worth, Texas and we cherish the memory of her telling us about it. She wrote poems, loved music, she played piano, sang and wrote and composed several songs which she copyrighted. She started the business and still owned at the time of her death, called "Music Texas Style", that promoted and managed careers of local musicians. For a few years she organized a Elvis Memorial at Chisholm Park in Hurst, Texas, first held on September 18, 1977, and published a small booklet "In Memory of The King" which she wrote and illustrated with poems she had written.
Those who remain to carry on Rhomelle's spirit of love and laughter include her sons: Rommie Bollinger (Gina); and Rodney Bollinger (Sharon); Denise Bollinger Hamilton (Lance); her grandchildren: Malia Bollinger, Miranda Martin (Brian) , Michael Bollinger, and her great grandchildren: Matthew and Chloe and her Nieces: Patricia Hale (Patrick), Diane Franks, Melanie Bollinger Komorowski (Michael), Heather Riggs (Rob), Devra Woodfin, and Crystal Bollinger; Nephews: Leeman R. Bollinger, James Bollinger (Mary), Lamar Livingston (Lara Beth), Keith Bollinger (Debby), David Bollinger (Karen), Dennis Livingston (Keri), Brett Franks, Walter Bollinger (Selane) Scott Bollinger (Kimberley), Aaron Guerra (Leo), Gilbert Livingston (Mari), and Ben Livingston. Special friends: Gene Dorminey, John Myserian; Sue Rathbun, Loyce Greer, Rhonda Burgess, Teresa and Darrell Mauldin, Georgia Smith, and Paul Humphries. Waiting to receive her were her parents Samuel and Ethel Livingston, her sister Geneva "Ruth" Dorminey (Edsil "E.J."), her brothers Elmer Livingston (Irene) and Wilmer Livingston (Dorothy). Leeman Washington Bollinger, Barbara Bollinger Davis, Doris Bollinger, and her nephew Samuel Bollinger Jr. Rhomelle will be dearly missed by her loved ones, who celebrate the fact that she was of strong Christian faith and is at peace with her Lord and Savior. She will forever occupy a place in our hearts. Although her physical presence is no longer with us, her spirit inspires us always. Proverbs 31:28: Her children arise and call her blessed.
In John 16:22, Jesus told his disciples, "Now is your time of grief, but I will see you again and you will rejoice, and no one will take away your joy." This is our promise in Christ. We will hurt. We will grieve. We will continue. We will be reunited. We will rejoice. We will have joy again.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a charitable donation or volunteering for one of Rhomelle's favorite organizations: the Alzheimer’s Association, Meals on Wheels, or your local library.
