Mary Jean Erskine, 95, passed away peacefully Saturday, June 23rd in Bedford Texas.
Visitation will be Monday July 2nd from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Lucas Funeral Home, 1321 Precinct Line Rd, Hurst, TX. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 3rd at 11:00 am at Lucas Funeral Home, burial at the DFW National cemetery at 1:00 pm. She was born July 13, 1922 in Reardan Washington to Edward and Margaret Hopkins. She graduated from Reardan High School and made her way to Seattle Washington where she attended Seattle Business College, and met the love of her life, William Erskine. While waiting for him to return from WWII, she worked for the US Army Engineers in Seattle and Los Angeles. She married William on February 28, 1946. In addition to being a caring mom and wife, she volunteered for the American Cancer society for 10 years, was a member of P.E.O. for 30, and spent 18 years as a travel agent.
She is survived by her husband William Erskine, son Scott Erskine (Beverley), daughter Nancy Barber (Dana), sister Eleanor Hoople (Ray), granddaughters Tai and Quinn Barber, Natalie Frank (Adam), Megan Erskine (Nihod) and 5 great grandchildren.
