She received a Bachelor’s degree in education from Texas Christian University on Tuesday and married William J. Hall on Friday October 27,1944. Mary had many careers including supportive spouse, dedicated mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, creative shopper, and private investor. Mary enjoyed traveling, finding inspiration in adventures especially those with her sister and partner in crime, Martha. Most recently she enjoyed being a resident at the Stayton, having good meals with family and friends and supporting everyone in their dreams and ambitions as well as being a role model for ageing and dealing with life’s difficulties with grace, dignity, and a sense of humor.
Mary is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, John and Kit Hall, her little sister Martha Slover and grandchildren Adrienne Peterson, Robert Callaway, and LeRay Havard. She is also survived by what she called her ‘great eight’, Coye Callaway, Callie Callaway, Joshua Havard, Jessica Havard, Carlie Callaway, Morgan Peterson, Cade Callaway and Leah Peterson. She also leaves numerous other family and friends, including her dedicated caregiver Shemeka Woodard. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Bill and her daughter Martha Gay Callaway.
