Mary Pauline King-Crouse
June 26, 1935 — August 29, 2018
Mary Pauline King-Crouse, 83, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 29. She was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma on June 26, 1935 to James Memory and Leah Whisnant. She was a graduate of Central High School in Tulsa.
Pauline married Herman F. King on August 1, 1955 and lived in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. They had three sons, David, James and Paul. Pauline was a homemaker and loved caring for her family. Herman's job relocated the family to Plano, Leander, Midland and North Richland Hills, TX as well as Attleboro, MA.
Most of her time was spent in North Texas where she was an active part of many groups. She and her husband were founding members of Prairie Creek Baptist Church in Plano where she was the church librarian. She blessed many people through her hobbies of sewing, quilting, and crochet. She made neck coolers for our troops in the Gulf War. She blessed many children at a Mission in Chili by crocheting hats and scarfs for them to wear. Many homeless, in Fort Worth, have received one of the 120 neck scarfs she made to keep them warm in the winter. She hand made Christmas stockings for preschoolers for her daughter-in-law's classes. She loved passing out home made goodies to her friends at her assisted living center. Anytime she won a prize at Bingo, she always found someone to give it to. Her first thought was always to give to others.
She is survived by her sons David and Sonya King, of Checotah, OK, James and Sheryl King of North Richland Hills, TX, and Paul and Suzie King of Little Elm, TX; grandchildren Candie Stout, Jennifer DiSalle, Donnie King and Andrew King; great-grandchildren Lileah Disalle, Hunter King and Luke DiSalle; her brother John Whisnant of Tulsa, OK and lots of family and friends.
Services will be held in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma at Floral Haven Funeral Home on Friday, September 7th at 3:00pm.
