Mary Foley Papadakis, 88, passed away Tuesday, June 5, 2018 surrounded by her family in Southlake, Texas. She was born June 22, 1929 to Harold T. and Mary H. Foley in West Springfield, Massachusetts.
Services: Visitation for Mary will be Monday, June 11th from 5pm - 7pm at Lucas Funeral Home Grapevine, 700 W. Wall Street.
Her Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, June 12th, 10 am at St. Francis of Assisi in Grapevine, 861 Wildwood Lane. Graveside services will follow at the Dallas/Fort Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Pkwy., Dallas at 12:30pm in Lane 3.
Mary worked for MassMutual Life Insurance Company upon her graduation from Cathedral Catholic High School in West Springfield, Massachusetts (Class of 1947). Subsequently, she heard Boston calling, and left western Massachusetts to work for New England Telephone and Telegraph. Mary also worked on John F. Kennedy's successful state senate campaign in 1952 - widely recognized as the event that launched the career of our 35th President. Courted in the early 1950's by Manuel Papadakis, the two were married in February of 1957. Mary was a devoted mother, but also continued pursuing her career interests. She was a very successful real estate broker, licensed in Massachusetts and Texas, and was a multi-million dollar producer during her tenure in Texas. Mary lived in diverse locations during her family life with Manuel and the children: Massachusetts, Nebraska, El Paso, Texas and Southlake, Texas. She especially cherished the love of her grandchildren after the move to Southlake.
Mary is survived by her loving husband of 61 years Manuel Papadakis; children, Manny Papadakis and his wife Tracie, Diane Boskovich and her husband Bill, Bob Papadakis and his wife Jeannette; grandchildren, Lucas, Nicholas, Taylor, Jackson, Ava and step-grandson Ben Boskovich; sister, Kitty Olsen an her husband Wallace Olsen III; godchildren, Kristen McDonald and Christine Bethel and many more family and friends.
Mary is preceded in death by her five brothers, Harold, Joe, Tom, Bob & Bub Foley and sister Tish Green.
