Mary Virginia Reynolds

July 29, 1929 — November 10, 2020

Our beloved Ginny passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus on Tuesday, November 10, 2020 with niece, Barbara Jean by her side.
She was born in Fort Worth and resided there until her marriage to Ford Reynolds of Colleyville in 1947. Ginny was a homemaker for over 20 years, caring for her children, Michael and Linda. Her passion was gardening and was a member of the Colleyville Garden Club. Her flower gardens were spectacular. She also loved to dance, watching old movies, especially westerns, and camping or traveling with friends. She was known to burst into song at any given moment, even though a little off key. She loved wearing hats, cute socks and lots of jewelry.
The love and faith she had in our Lord Jesus Christ, reflected in her ever present smile for anyone she came into contact, family, friends or strangers.
She had a special love for children and taught Sunday School at Colleyville Methodist Church for many years. After retiring from Texas Instrument, where she worked for17 years, she volunteered to rock newborn babies at John Peter Smith Hospital. Through her church, Gateway in Southlake, she visited Aids patients. Many had no family that visited and she talked and prayed with them, wrote letters, handed out clothes and personal hygiene items.

Ginny spent the last 15 months of her life at The Courtyards of Granbury Assisted Living and Memory Care. The family would like to thank the caregivers for the love and kindness they showed our Ginny. Since the outside world was locked out because of Covid 19, she developed some very strong bonds with her caretakers, and they for her in return.
We would also like to thank Envoy Hospice Group for lovingly taking such good care of Ginny and controlling her pain during the last days of her life. We will always be grateful.

Ginny was preceded in death by her parents, Henry Lee Swackhammer and Margaret Fouch Swackhammer, her brother Maurice Swackhammer, known as Junior to his family and "Swack" to everyone else; both of her children, Michael David Reynolds and Linda Kay Reynolds Lain.

She is survived by her sister, Monna Sue Jacksen, son-in-law, Billy Lain, sister-in-law Jerrie Swackhammer Ralls, nieces, Leslee and husband Chris Burke, Stephanie Jacksen, Glenda Timbes, Barbara Jean and husband Bill Faries, Dena and husband Chris Bernard. Nephews, Larry Reynolds, Brian Reynolds and Don and wife Julie Swackhammer; long time friend and companion Patsy Chambers, extended family and friends.
